advertising, sales actually working in marketing like the desgin part and idea part using what you learned from your research

To break your target market down into smaller chunks to more closely target a product/advertising campaign etc.

So, for example, your target market might be 18-25 years olds and the particular segment of that market you might be aiming at might be students in full-time Higher Education.

From there you would be able to perform other marketing exercises such as customer profiling

Similarly you might identify which segment of the market you did not consider to be your audience. In this example, for eg, you might consider that unemployed teenagers with no qualifications were an ‘excluded segment’ who you didn’t want to hear from in market research etc

I transitioned my business mid 2007 to an LLC. Should I file taxes as two separate businesses? The first to include income and expenses as the sole proprietorship and the second to include income and expenses after becoming an LLC.

Or should I just include everything under the LLC?

It is a single owner LLC with its own Tax ID.
Also, I do not have any employees.

You should file a single Schedule C with your personal return (1040). You should not use the separate tax ID# for the LLC unless you have employees. Your social security number should be used whenever you fill out Form W-9 for your business.

I need to write this speech by Monday for the 8th grade promotion and I need help on what I should talk about. There is no specific topic, but the maximum is 700 words.

Make sure your speech has a singular topic. Every speech does.

One idea would be to write about how much of a family you’ve become. Or how much you’ve grown up together.

How you would segment and target the potential market for a new ‘upmarket’ (or High-end) product?

Obviously the product would be targeted at high-income consumers.

Dad, 80, gets a mountain of mail and continuous phone calls.
He has symptoms of alzheimer’s and has charged or written checks totaling $10,000 in January.
Fortune tellers, overseas lotteries, coin dealers, political donations, etc, etc.
If he authorizes the transactions, they can’t be reversed.

Contacting the companies will not stop them.

Need to change his environment as controlling his behavior doesn’t last.
Take away his credit cards and he gets new ones.
Want to try to make his saving less accessable.

Suggestions?

Talk to a lawyer and get power of attorney. They can tell you the best way to deal with the money situation. Contact the post office and have them help cut off the junk mail. Get him on your state’s Do Not Call list for telemarketers.

I’m wanting information on the type of business I should start from my home. I don’t want to do any of these "work from home" jobs from businesses on the internet b/c I have done a lot of research and can not find one that seems to be legit. So please do not tell me to do that in your response.

I live in a very rural area, so I that eliminates some possibilities. I could do an online business. Please don’t tell me to do ebay… I’ve tried it, and I don’t really care for it. I like animals, photography, nature, travelling, and various other things. I just need some good ideas on how I can make some income at home. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Why many companies fail to use Market research sufficiently or correctly despite of its rapid growth?
Please give your reasons

Research is expensive. Typically people qualified to do real, meaningful research are professional degree holders (Ph.D. or equivalent). These people can make good money doing things more rewarding than market research. So not only do they need to be paid, their staff will need to be payed and trained before hand or the results of the research will be compromised. Also, telephone lines for each researcher or materials such as paper, envelopes, computers, software, and overhead space all contribute to cost. If companies are doing well enough without these expenses, it is not too surprising that they are skipping them and their possible benefits.
