AAF-Cedar Valley has created a design competition where we’re asking our members to design this year’s ADDY® “Call for Entries” print piece. We want you to show us what you’ve got!
THEME: “SECRET AGENT”
ENTRY REVIEW:
A panel of AAF-Cedar Valley board members will narrow the submitted entries down to a selection of six. The final six entries will be posted online at aafcedarvalley.com. AAF-Cedar Valley members will be able to log on and cast their votes.
The chosen winner will also need to design the ADDY Award Ceremony invitation by the mid-January deadline, which is yet to be determined.
DEADLINE: Friday, September 26th, 2008
PRIZE: AAF-Cedar Valley will pay the fee for ONE (1) entry piece into the 2008-09 ADDYs. The chosen winner will also have their name or company name on the printed piece(s) and will be acknowledged during the award ceremony.
RULES & GUIDELINES:
- Size: 18x24 flat, folding down to 6x9
- Piece must use the theme and copy provided (download now)
- Entries must be electronically submitted as a PDF to Laura Hand lhand@forbin.com by Friday, September 26th.
- Your company name or logo can be no larger than 2”x 2” on the piece
- Must include the AAF-Cedar Valley & AAF logos.
- Only one entry per person or company
- Winner will need to provide graphics to AAF-Cedar Valley for use in web site and ADDY ceremony presentation.
- Piece must meet mailing regulations
- Please design in CMYK at 300 dpi effective resolution
- Please design in Quark or InDesign
- No diecutting please
- Angle cutting accepted

Q: Does all the provided copy have to be placed on the poster?
A: Yes. View last years poster to see how it was done.
Q: Is saddle-stitching okay?
A: Yes
Q: What about tabbing – any limitations?
A: There are no limitations
Q: Is any gluing allowed?
A: Gluing is not something that will be available at this time.
Q: What kind of paper stock will be used?
A: The paper stock is generally on a 100# white house gloss paper. We recommend scanning a paper and placing that as a background image if you are looking for something in particular.
