Has anyone sold or rented a timeshare week thru a online advertising company?

I would like to sell or rent mine.

The first rule when you are selling is to discount at least 30% of your purchase price (usually 50% is recommended).

I made a successful sale of my Mystic Dunes timeshare (Orlando) using sellmytimesharenow.com

Here is the research I did before choosing a company

1. I checked the BBB report on the company
2. I made them provide traffic and offer reports
3. I acted like a buyer on search engines and only inquired with easy to find, top ranked companies
4. I searched online for complaints about the company.

All this took me a couple hours (the final decision took days!)
I also posted on free sites at the same time and recommend you do the same as well.

  1. NEVER deal with online companies when it comes to real estate.

If you can’t walk into an office and talk to a real live person, then it isn’t a company you want to deal with.

  2. Your best bet may be to sell your time share. I own lots of property and eventually just come to part with it. Use the money to invest in something else….even you spend a little more money on another time share, it will be better as long as you are getting the use out it. That way its not just something else you’re paying taxes on every year. Renting is a hard thing to do. Especially if you’re going to foot the bill. I have bought/sold much property. I never really messed with time shares although it sounds fantastic. But my experience with renters in homes/apts….dont do it…..it always costs you in the long run. Get them bucks and buy something fun for yourself =]

  3. To resale or rent a timeshare is a hard task, a basic rule is: don’t pay money up-front. There are some free classified adds where you can post it and get some results:

  5. Selling a timeshare can be really tough. You will be lucky to sell it for half of what you bought it for. If you are still making payments on it, you may find you still owe money on it after you sell it. Renting is also difficult. The Timeshare User’s Group (tug2.net) has some information on how to sell a timeshare. I wish you the best. See these websites:
