How do I find my ponies details from his branding in NZ?

My pony came from the NI and I never received any papers. He is branded on both sholders and I know he has previously been a top show jumping pony. We only have his paddock name.

Hmmm… might be tough… if he was a tb… you can look up the stud book… what type of pony is he??? if he is a special breed you might be able to get in contact with his breeds association and they might have a stud book you can trace him through… other then that… contact the previous owners… and either get papers from them… or get the number of the person they bought the pony off.. or ask them who bred the pony or if they could tell you where he showed… if they can tell you the places he showed… you can go back to those places and ask for the register from certain years he attended… and you will be able to track him through there… other then that… post a picture of him and his brands on sites like these but nz and even more specific ni and see if any one recognises him… some one might pick him as a horse they have showed against… good luck :)
