    Well…. I think this notion you are “projecting” onto Russell is a notion that would be true of most performers.

    Honestly though? No, his persona is vastly endowed with joy, occassional nonchalance and a relentless lack of submission to the will of others. I’d imagine his “emotionless” stance at the end was a response to Jason Segel and crew, who fundamentally are more filtered down in personality than Russell, and he always tries to match his demeanour with the present attitude of others.

    You know one thing I’ve noticed about old Russ, his on stage persona is happier than his business persona. Did you notice how he seemed a bit emotionless at the end. I’m getting the feeling that Russell Brand doesn’t feel much at all unless he’s performing. Or perhaps I’m projecting….
