What are some unsuccessful branding efforts?

There are numerous reports of unsuccessful branding in magazines and books etc. What are some examples of unsuccessful branding efforts and explain each one.

I can only think of the good brands - HELP! Thank youuu

When Chevy introduced the Nova in Mexico, they kept the brand name "Nova" for the product. But "No va" means "doesn’t go" in Spanish. Some local research before launching the Nova in Mexico would have avoided that disaster!

There are several more branding mishap stories (see link below), but of course anytime the general public can’t remember the name of a product, a branding issue has occurred.
