How is market research done? For example, how would i know the amount of money cingular makes on text messagin

Does it cost a lot of money to do this kind of research? How can I get trustworthy information i am looking for about the market.

Please check google answers. They do this kind of research all the time for people looking into new industries.

    I really don’t have a concrete answer for your question, but I can give you a few references. First of all, check out the Wall Street Journal. They always have articles on business research. Next, I would check with your local college’s research and development department. You could also check out the Federal Trade Commission to see if they have done any studies http://www.ftc.gov
