I would go on line and join a few other survey sites and take in the Q & A's. You can learn a lot from how to ask questions to how to use the answers. I use Google and Dogpile as my search sites and type in survey. It is amazing how many companies will ask for your input and some will even pay you for your thoughts. Could use this to supplement your college fund!
References :
Well look at a course guide for a college and find what books they have as required reading for their marketing type classes, probably one or another will be related. Also if you go to a University Bookstore they will probably have more books on those type of topics than you might find at your normal bookstore.
