The difference is only service or product! The product is easier to market to create traffic to come to your store, the service is better to be used in the back end!

There is only 2 objections to overcome when marketing a service, it is the price and skepticism!
References :
www.usdreamteam.com

people have a tendency not to buy or investigate any further if there is not a product line attached to your site or add. Try starting your advertising with some examples of the product line that related to your service, then interject your service at a later point
References :
Whether you are marketing a product or a service the CLIENT is buying "percieved" value... that is always and will always be the case. To market either one, you need to tell the client "W.I.I.F.M" (what's in it for me). It's not about you, its not even about what YOU think is the most valuable thing. It is entirely about what the client thinks, what the client wants and what will be their percieved value. In either case, you must associate with the client on their level and tell them why they want to buy this product or service. It doesn't matter at all if there are two different types of massages. It doesn't matter if there are a hundred. What does matter is that the client gets the type of massage that satisfies them. See... now we're not marketing massage style, we're marketing satisfaction... and if you don't realize that marketing satisfaction is MUCH easier than marketing a product, then you have much to learn about this thing called marketing. To be a successful marketer, you must be able to step outside of yourself and associate with the client on a more personal level. Then, zoom out... and you've got a pretty good picture of how to tell the whole group why they want to buy a product or service. It's easy. Let's not make it into some cold, scientific, numbers based lab experiment.
References :
If I was a marketer I would want to market products. The reason is that all you have to do is sell the product and ship it to them. If your selling a service then your going to have to sell the service so that they use youthen go and do the service and have to make the bet impression. Porducts just sound eier to me
References :
You have to overcome yourself, because the marketing of services to the prospective buyer, is the marketing of you, the part of the service, the only part of the service the prospective buyer gets to see...YOU. Marketing a product is different, because it is tangible, can be felt, seen, heard, etc. Note one thing: Marketing is not selling. Marketing services won't be nearly as rewarding as selling services. All the salespeople out there know exactly what I am talking about...but to get back to your specific question, the answer is how to best improve upon you, even if the services your company provides is unremarkable.
References :
A lifetime of sales

It's definitely more difficult to market services because they are never the same. If two consumers go to the same massage therapist for the same "type" of massage, it wont be exactly the same. Services are more subjective to the consumer purchasing them. What one person considers a great service, might be considered only fair by another consumer.

Products, on the other hand, have continuity. You can expect exactly the same thing from the exact same product, each and every time it is purchased.
