Does Amazon send you any kind of junk mail or promotions in the email when you start purchasing things there?

What I’m asking is that does Once you start buying things from Amazon,do they start sending you things in the mail OTHER than what you actually bought. Like promotions or junk mail or whatever.

Nope. I’ve been buying from Amazon.com and Amazon.ca for nearly 10 years, and the worst I’ve ever got was a little flyer in one of my boxes which had books I purchased from them. They will use your purchases to make recommendations on their website too (the first page you see when you log in), and I’ve actually found these helpful. But no selling your name to anyone else or sending you stuff in the mail or through email.

Can I become an advertisement and promotions manager with a degree in architecture?

The demand for architects int he future is quite low. However, it is my biggest dream, so I will go for it.
My backup plan is to become an advertisement and promotions manager. Would the architecture degree I would have be good for the job?

There are no strict requirements for a job in marketing, but if you have relevant coursework, it would help. See if you can take some courses in marketing as electives, and it could even help you in your work in architecture.

Where can I find out about business branding?

I am looking for any useful information on branding a business.

Here is an article on the theories behind banner advertising. It includes information on branding, ad campaigns, online banners and focusing on a targeted audience vs. wide reach: http://www.banner-advertising.info/banner_advertising_theory/

Here’s an article I just stumbled upon. Talks about how brands use live content to appear as ‘friends’ by having flaws just like real human beings.

What should I wear to a branding agency interview?

I have an interview lined up for a non-creative position (business development) with a branding agency. They specialize in branding, design, advertising, pr, etc…Is a suit too formal for this type of environment? I’ve never interviewed with an ad agency before so I’m not sure what the typical dress code is. Any advice is appreciated!

im going to go ahead and suppose ur a guy, so yeah…
Anyways, Working for an agency is a very uniform and serious job. Because your dealing with business, i suggest you dress formal, but not too formal as if your going to a wedding. I think its really depends on the authority your interviewing with, added with your age. If your a younger person, say like around 20, you can wear a white or black dress shirt, topped with a black/dark blue jacket from a suit (you can leave the suit jacket open), but dont put on a tie. Then unbutton the top 2 buttons from the dress shirt to add a casual look.

How do promotions for Federal officers work?

my friend brought up to me tonight every few years the federal buro comes by and gives out promotions and usually that means you might need to transfer to another location

I am a bit upset if he does get it I mean I will be happy for him but he is someone I hold dear and i dont think I could stand him being in another state….

How do these promotions work?
who gets choses and under what conditions and circumstances?
Is it choses by age? performance? years in the job/position?

If an employee wants a promotion they have to apply for the job and, if you want the job, you go where the openings are. For example, I was a Data Review Technician for Social Security. I wanted to become a claims rep so I took the test and applied for the job. I was offered the job in eight different cities and not for the city I worked in. I moved out of state for the job and two years later I transferred back to the city I started out in.

When someone applies for a promotion, the people who look over the applications assign points. Points are assigned for special assignments, whether or not you have a college degree, any awards a person has received, leadership activity in organizations outside of the office, years of experience and all sorts of things. The points are added up and they then make a list of all the people interested in the job, ranking them by the points accumulated. The jobs are then offered to the people on the list with the highest points.

A person can apply for a particular job if they meet the requirements of the job. In the federal government, offices are sent job vacancy notices. The job vacancy lists the requirements, e.g. five years experience in a particular field or whatever and where the job vacancy exists. If you meet the requirements listed on the job vacancy you can apply for the job.

Essay writing on analysing sensory branding of a product. Any suggestions on which product should I pick?

I’m struggling with which product to pick for my essay. I can’t just choose a brand as it’s too broad. I need a particular product that is easy to start with. Thank you very much.

You could try motorcycles like Harley Davidson. Or Apple computers, in both cases, sound is a key element here.
You can also check out (Garnier) Fructis products. They all have a fresh smell, and consistent.

Those are the products where the senses are not where it is about, but play a huge role.

My personal way(research) is also to determine the senses for the brand in relation to the consumer by the use of archetypes. Stated by Mark & Pearson (The Hero and the Outlaw). Based on Jung’s earlier work. Very interesting perhaps to give it a look into it.

Good luck

Do you still use Yellow Pages for your company advertising?

I need to decide if yellow page advertising is right for my company. I have several sign companies and teh lady was offering a wide variety of features for $100 per store, per month. I have a feeling that this money could be better spent by other ways. It seems like more people use google then yellow pages these days.

What do you think? Do you still use yellow pages for your advertising?

No. I don’t. The other business owners that I am involved with don’t use it either. Our company names and numbers ARE listed in the White Pages, but we don’t spend for ads in the Yellow Pages.

I personally recycle my phone books on the day I receive them. Everyone (mostly) uses the internet now to find products and services. Phone books are almost passe.

What differentiates direct competition from indirect for an advertising company? Example below.?

So lets say were selling advertising space that a lot more interactive then newspaper and magazine advertising. Would the newspaper companies be considered direct competition if they are targeting my exact target market? Or because our advertising medium is completely different, would they then be called indirect competitors?

Think about it this way: what percentage % of market do you own? How it can be compared to the % of market share other company does? Basically, your direct competitors not necessary those who sell advertising space, but those who makes similar money on it. Say, American Express will not be your competitor, because it’s far beyond your reach. You have nothing to share. But a site of your streight and your vertical will be a competitor, for sure
