At a promotion interview, what would be the best response to the question "what makes you more qualified for the promotion" if substantially all applicants are essentially the same? Thanks, for your help!

That’s impossible to have all applicants the same. Not everyone has the same measurable accomplishments. I would cite my measurable accomplishments to prove that I deliver results no matter what job position I have.

  1. I would come armed with a list of accomplishments and say that you’re prepared to continue them at the next level:

    I’ve saved the company $______ by doing ____ .
    I earned the company $ ______ by doing _______.
    I’ve increased productivity by _____.
I improve employee morale by ________.
I’m good at managing people as demonstrated by _________.

Those are some directions you can go in. If everyone else could mention the same things, then you can at least come across as the most polished and prepared.

    Good luck!
