How does the Army promotion system work?

I went to the promotion board today for E5. Saying I have all the points and make cutoff, when will I be able to put on the rank. What happens and how does the system work for now. Is it the November points or the December points that affect me?

go to the board get your points togther, and become protable (go form SPC to SPC-P) then go to WLC and when th e points drop enough you get yuour SGT and you become a SGT.

You have to wait three months and make the cut off score when your three months is up.
