    This was an epic promo.I remember when this promo aired on TV. I loved it, I was 8-ish, but my mom would never let me watch the show because it was based on war.

    the overall theme and style of toonami, its
    the reason I love anime and just animation in general now.

    not many…the young ones who watched it on CN are pretty much the new otaku now anyways (me for instance being a 20 year old currently…hard to believe toonami was in its golden years more than 10 years ago)

    Just wondering, how many others here were not little kids but 100% anime otaku (watching uncut VHS releases) when the show came out?

    I was a college anime fan at the time, and remember how huge it was to see this on TV.

    This was the first time we could see an anime on TV that was identical to the uncut dub VHS tapes we were watching at the time. Normally we’d have to go to the anime section at Suncoast, now we just flipped to CN.

    GW was THE topic across online anime forums for weeks.

    Man, I remember when CN Toonami was in it’s heyday. You’d get this, some DBZ, and god knows what else on Fridays. Plus, the promo’s were the shiz.
