Without HBO you can forget about big monster pay days.

Whats the last Boxing PPV that didnt have an HBO logo on it that didnt sell less than 200,000 PPV buys?

Showitme sure as isnt paying 3 million for fights. ESPN sure as isnt. Without HBO Boxing would have a large mountain to climb.

Why should HBO bend over backwards for Hopkins? If I was HBO I’d stick to the 3 million and offer the extra 500,000 if they can get over 2.5 million viewers.

I agree but the negotiations are mostly being done by RS and he’s the one who called the 3 million “unacceptable”.

I think that kind of attitude is unacceptable not 3 million. The truth is that Hopkins’ last PPV sold 150,000 PPV buys and his fight with Calzaghe he was given 3 million payday along with Calzaghe and the fight didnt do as well as expected.

Good video Dragonstyle. Interesting to think about boxing without HBO. Promotion companies wouldn’t be making near as much money as they do now, that’s for sure.

I would love to see this fight made. Especially if it keeps Adamek-Golota off the table.
