What degree do you need to work in promotions, in radio or a record company?
i want to work in either radio promotions or in a record company promoting artists. what kind of degree do i need in order to do this?
It might impress an employer if you have a marketing degree, minor in communications, something like that, but that’s not really the story.
Promotions is sales, and that takes, drive, desire, ingenuity, people skills, etc. You don’t need a degree for that, just an opportunity. If you can’t get a break in your chosen field, start at a retail outlet or some other sales position, develop your resume, then go for what you really want again.
There are immense numbers of people with degrees that can’t do what you aim to do; employers know this; they want results, so get on with it. Can you start on a commission basis based on your results only? It depends a lot on how badly you want it.

ofcourse dergee is very important for this type of job+ personal skills+personality+and good communication is also very important.
I’ll suggest you to take the degree of Mass Communication or either Marketing for this type of job. Mass Communication should be the first preference.

Hi, Yes, I agree. It would be a degree in Mass Communications. I know that’s what my daughter wanted to do until she changed her major to Journalism. Good luck!
